The 2-eleven goes on sale in Europe this spring, and we can expect it here in the States when a pig flies one over the Atlantic.

Lotus has always been an automotive fraternity for masochistic gearheads obsessed with the hunt for the low mass, and the 2-eleven represents the company's most brutal hazing to date. To create the car, Lotus started with the already fantastic Elise and eliminated useless parts like the doors, the windshield, and the roof. Who needs 'em, right? The engine is a supercharged, 252 horsepower version of the 1.8-liter Toyota engine found throughout the Elise/Exige range, and it only 1477 pounds of car to propel. That means 0-60 is realized in 3.8 seconds and in just 9.1, the car can reach triple digits. The 2-eleven goes into production in April and will initially be sold only in the wild color scheme seen here. Perhaps the most shocking announcement is that the Brits will get a street-legal version of the car, which means that they're crazier than we ever thought possible. A track version will go on sale in Japan and South Africa later this year, and the 2-eleven is expected to arrive in the U.S. when a pig flies it over the Atlantic.
