2010 Ford Expedition
The only changes made to the 2010 Ford Expedition were the addition of Trailer Sway Control and MyKey as standard features.
Undergoing its cosmetic changes in its 3rd rendition the Ford Expedition has made it a long way since the SUV craze that started around 1990. The external changes are more noticeable, but more importantly the newer Ford Expedition has moved to a dedicated platform and frame. This change gives the newer models an extended wheelbase that equates to more control and advanced handling abilities that will allow it to truly compete with the other full sized SUVs like the Suburban and the Yukon XL. Now that the Excursion has been discontinued, this model will be the new full sized ultimate SUV from Ford.
Like most other passenger vehicles from Ford the Expedition received an upgrade to a 6 speed automatic transmission in early 2007. This makes the shift points a little smoother and the overall driving experience that much better in this huge SUV. If towing is a necessity the Expedition is fully capable of towing up to a 1620 pound load, the truck type abilities of the Expedition make it more feasible to some buyers when considering its price. The large crossover vehicle market continues to grow and this "Ford Tough" vehicle will be a contender.
