Not much. The outdated V-8 engine has been dropped for 2011 and thatâs it. Otherwise, the STS carries on with the same dated styling inside and out. Though more competitive than the DTS, the STS remains in a holding pattern likes its older sibling, both waiting to be replaced by the new XTS flagship sedan.
This model is almost comparable the DTS, but with a totally different body and some other small changes, this full size passenger vehicle has seemed to stand up to its older counterpart and make a worthwhile second choice for consumers. The body style looks more like a full sized BMW than it looks like a Cadillac. These models come with a V-6 engine but offer about 25 more horsepower that the DTS, which brings it to 302 HP from its 3.6 liter motor.
The STS comes standard with some of the features that you would have to pay for on other Cadillac models. The stabitrak electronic stability control system, OnStar, XM Radio and keyless entry all come as part of the standard STS options. One feature that is very important to some is the all wheel drive option and this is available for a fee. All other models are rear wheel drive and this is a good choice for a vehicle of this size. If a new look and a luxurious car to seat up to 5 passengers comfortably, the STS is a viable option.
