Essentially shorter, two-door versions of the Phantom sedan, the 2012 Phantom Coupe and Phantom Drophead Coupe are in some ways even more attractive than their sedan progenitor. The four-door Phantom may have more presence, but the coupe and the convertible are sexier. The exquisite detailing begins with a stainless-steel hood and windshield frame. Drophead models have a tonneau cover made from teak wood of the type normally reserved for yachts. The doors are rear-hinged and can be closed automatically with the push of a button. Leather, wood, and chrome are all hand-crafted and of a quality unmatched in any other car. If you want to be seen, the Drophead is the model to pick. When its canvas top is retracted, bystanders have a clear view of this luscious convertible's occupants. The Coupe model can also simulate the open-air experience thanks to an optional headliner that twinkles with artificial starlight. A 6.7-liter V-12 provides 453 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque and is mated to an ultrasmooth six-speed automatic transmission. The drivetrain can propel the luxoboat from rest to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds and on to a governed top speed of 150 mph. In the Drophead, though, we'd recommend slower velocities so that everyone can see you. The Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe and Drophead Coupe may be the most fantastic, most beautiful cars on the planet.
