Jaguar to get new Heritage Centre
Good news Jag fans, the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust’s car collection is being re-located into a shiny new development (see artist’s impression right). For anybody who’s ever tried visiting the current showroom located at the former Browns Lane plant site, you’ll have noted that the museum’s back-drop is a bit depressing these days. Browns Lane, as car fans know it, no longer exists (left) and the heritage centre is pretty much the only surviving building.
Apparently 43 cars from the 180+ car collection are going to be loaned to other museums or flogged at auction, but Jaguar says that this has nothing to do with paying for the development, and it will only be selling its duplicate models. This better be the case.
