Missing Le Mans
I'm missing my usual sojourn to Le Mans this year due to the pressures of my own racing season and the need to remind the other half that I exist. But I'm still going to miss it. Le Mans strength is that it exists on so many different levels. If you're a leading sports car driver, this is the focal point of your year and an opportunity to achieve global fame. And if you're a fan, it's a chance to relax with friends, drink yourself stupid and, just occasionally, catch sight of some of the world's greatest racing cars. I'll be watching it on the box this year, but Assistant Editor Ready is busy packing his suitcase and will be making the trip in a Porsche Cayman S. You'll be able to read all about his trip from Thursday onwards, which is almost as good as being there. Almost.
